About EQUIP
EQUIP is an innovative outreach ministry and partnership between Interfaith Housing Coalition and churches focused on preventing family homelessness and promoting accountability and self sufficiency through faith-based mentoring.
EQUIP Mentors work with families on the brink of losing their homes. These families are at risk for situational homelessness due to events such as divorce, illness, death or a reduction in household income resulting in overwhelming financial and psychological burdens.
Equipping Families for a Better Future
Many families are financially stressed despite the full- time employment of one or both parents. These families are without resources for unexpected circumstances and most publicly funded safety nets are not available until the family is in a complete free-fall.
EQUIP seeks to break the cycle of poverty, prevent the painful disruption of family lives, and provide a firm foundation for the family to rebuild for the future. EQUIP provides services in an effective manner because the program is prevention based and implemented by volunteers.
