Our History

Interfaith Housing Coalition was founded in 1985 to provide transitional housing and support services to homeless families. Through the years, a broad coalition of individuals, foundations, churches, and service groups have joined the ministry, effectively leveraging volunteer, in-kind and financial resources throughout the community.

The Landscape Has Changed

Initially designed to help families with situational homelessness stabilize and move forward within 90 days, the Interfaith Housing program has evolved to provide an in-depth approach to address the root issues of generational poverty and homelessness. Recent Program Results

The Home & Hope residential program is stringent. Participant adults are required to succesfully obtain and keep employment, make restitution on debt, and make progress toward savings goals. Average stay is six months
Last year 57% of residents completed the program, with average savings of $1,878 per family. Savings generally range from $1,200 to $5,000 per family. Our highest savings last year was $11,364 for one family.
Last year 89% of residents secured employment with an average rate of pay of $10.50 per hour. Average time to secure employment was 6 weeks.
Last year 93% of our former residents maintained self sufficiency
